Really like having a dedicated BTA. I have a number of bottomless portafilters. The first was a bottomless from Rocket, did not fit. I also had a very nice generic stainless steel portafilter that was just fine. The generic was sold as a lie flat portafilter, but it is not one now dedicated to this BTA. I am very satisfied to have this tool, though it will only be used sparingly. And by the way, it’s nice that the 3D plastic piece attaches via magnets. But the piece pops off very easily. I don’t know if the light connection to the metal body is an issue or a “feature”. My guess would be that a stronger magnetic connection would be more desirable. All in all, I would recommend this this product. I would also strongly recommend buying this product with a matching portafilter, due to the matching unless one has many to choose from. Secondly I would recommend buying in the YOWEXA digital thermocouple too, if one didn’t have that hardware (unless one already does). Finding an affordable required hardware would be a challenge for many people.
Very useful tool to measure temperature of extraction. Easy and convenient to use. I recommend it.
