Not quite there

Great idea but the funnel needs to be adapted. It is too shallow, so the fines still spray everywhere even with RDT before grinding the beans. Perhaps an adapter that would slightly tilt the portafilter towards the grinder shoot would help. The magnet that holds the funnel to the portafilter is not strong enough. It is easy to knock off side, therefore causing spillage of the grinds.
