- Measure the machine heat-up time until stable operation temperature is achieved
- Analyze the shot-to-shot temperature stability of your coffee machine
How to perform the temperature offset measurement?
To achieve optimal measurement accuracy and repeatability, it is recommended to perform the tests based on a temperature measurement protocol. Two valuable resources for espresso machines are:
- Competition Espresso Machines: Specifications & Test Methods (2021 Edition) by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA)
- Espressomaschinen-Testprotokoll (in German) by Kaffeemacher
How to calibrate your temperature sensor & reader?
It is recommended to calibrate your sensor and reader setup before your first temperature test in order to guarantee the best measurement accuracy. A video tutorial on how to calibrate your device will be available soon.
